Layers

Assignment #3: Layers Project

Using Adobe Illustrator, create a recognizable 2D object or scene, something used,  interacted, or seen regularly. Try a variety of tools to render your object to the best of your ability. You are being graded on effort only at this point of the class. Pay attention to scale and perspective as this will help your object look more realistic. Use the Grid (under View menu). Using Guides (pull out from rulers) will also be helpful). You may choose to use the Perspective Tools (Grid and Selection) to help with your design. Hint: Turn Rulers on under View menu. Use Control + Click On the active Ruler to select your unit of measure.

Reflection- The goal of this assignment was to create depth in an image, so I used the rectangle and pencil tools to create the different mountains. I made the sky and the moon, but the trees and clouds are symbols that I used the symbol sprayer to make. I was originally going to do a scene in the daytime, but then I decided to make the darker gradient and a moon so that it would be night time instead. I think the colors are mostly “cool” colors, so the night scene just looks nicer. I think I did pretty well on this assignment, I like the landscape that I created and I think it shows depth.
