Gabby Thorburn's e-Portfolio

Research Paper and Bibliography

Students pick a topic of their choice – preferably one they are passionate about, and can find enough supporting facts, evidence through research with online library resources and other web resources, research their topic and take notes using MS Word, learn how to make proper citations for a bibliography using MS Word, and write a minimum of 3 paragraphs (5-7 sentences each) using standard reporting formatting per specifications taught and modeled in class.

The finished pieces (uploaded as 2 separate files) are saved as a MS Word .docx file and a .pdf file – the .pdf files is uploaded to their Tech Lit page on their ePortfolio and displayed in the standard ePortfolio format: Naming the assignment (title), giving the assignment description (can be copied from above here), showing the assignment (link to the .pdf file with an accurate link name), and a reflection statement (restate the assignment task (WHAT), tell steps taken to complete the assignment (HOW), and what the student thinks of their effort and work quality (SELF-EVALUATION).

History of Chocolate PDF

Chocolate Bibliography

Reflection- For this project we could write our report on anything that we wanted to. I chose the history of chocolate because it was something I was interested in and hadn’t learned about before. We researched our topics. We cited the sites that we used as we went using the program EasyBib. 😎 The requirement was to have 6 notes and 3 citations. Then we wrote our rough drafts. We had to get 3 peer edit signatures before typing our final drafts. After we finished our final drafts we turned it all in. It was interesting to write this paper.
