Moving Parts Project- Ferris Wheel

Description-

For this project you had to design an object or objects using 123D Design. The only rule is there has to be moving parts and some what complex. This project was for second and third rounders only. For our first assignment Molly and I are building a 3D printed ferris wheel. We are using 123D Design on our computers. We will make a base then make a whole for the pole to go on. Next we will make the wheel. The wheel will spin on the pole. Theres going to be three different parts- wheel, base, and the rod or axil. Everything should fit together and spin once we are done.

For this project 2nd and 3rd rounders designed an object that can be put together and be moved. My partner( Molly B.) and I designed a ferris wheel using the program 123D Design. There are three parts to it. The base, which is two triangle, a rod, which  the wheel spins on and connects the two triangles, and then there is the wheel with extruded triangles in it. Our printed object turned out being orange and we connect everything with hot glue. In our program I made the rod, which turned out being a little long, and I made the base. My partner design the wheel. First I measured everything so it fits together. Then I used the push pull tool to extrude a circle I made. Those two steps are how I completed the pole. The base was pretty similar but with a few more steps. I made a triangle then pulled it up then extruded another triangle in the inside. After I did all that I copied and pasted it so there was two. I think it turned out pretty good and we only made one mistake, the length of the rod. This project was super fun and I love working with Molly:) I really hope Mr. Schiff likes our printed piece and design:)))
