Complex Project- Cake stand with Cupcake

Description- We have to design a complex project with multiple parts using 123D design.

 

 

 

Reflection- (DID NOT HAVE TIME TO PRINT ALL OF IT) For Molly and I’s last project we designed a cake stand with a 3D Printed cupcake. I made the base of the cupcake stand and the frosting of the cupcake. For the base I started with a triangle about 3 inches tall. Then i added a circle on the top it. I extruded the circle about 1/2 of an inch. For the frosting i started with a pyramid then added 3 toruses on it getting smaller each time.  We have only printed Mollys two parts but not mine. We haven’t printed mine yet because most of the first rounders have been printing before the second rounders because they still have to print their complex and simple projects. We have been waiting for a printer for about a week now. To make the bottom of Mollys cupcake she used a cylinder and then subtracted a bunch of triangles to make the ridges. Then for the top layer of the stand she used two cylinders too and just changed their hight and radius’. This project was really fun and challenging to get all the measurements right. In all i think this project turned out good and Im sad this class is over:(
