Return to 3D Design To Build

123d Design Boat & Oars

Description: Students will follow the step by step 123d Design Tutorial Basics Exercise 2(using headphones) to gain more thorough tool use and application. Students may consult each other in small groups while completing this tutorial exercise. Students will export their finished boat as an .stl file and put the in the printer queue for printing. Screen shots (at least 2 perspectives) will be included in their ePortfolio assignment page, along with 2 pictures of the printed piece. Estimated time to completion – 2 class sessions.

Reflection: This was my favorite project in 3d design to build because it was harder and I got to print it. Some things I used was the filet tool which was a newer tool to me. I learned how to make oars and scale them to the boat. Also, I learned how to save it separately so I could print it. Now I am on to making a fidget spinner or the nut and bolt project.
