Video Camera Angle Exercise

Video Camera Angle Exercise

Students learn to use the video camera to demonstrate an understanding of various techniques. They use the Shots and Angles handout to reference 5 video camera filming techniques, then compile the footage in iMovie to show their work. Movies are uploaded to Vimeo and then presented on their ePortfolios. This exercise is completed while working on the PSA #1 Assignment.

Reflection: In this assignment I used my iPad to film at different angles to create an iMovie.  I went out to the track to film Elin, Phoebe, and Sophia.  For the zoom, I had Phoebe and Elin stand back to back and zoomed in.  For the tilt, I started the camera pointed to the ground, and went up to show Elin and Phoebe at the starting position.  For the pan, I stood my the starting line and turned to show them running.  For the handheld, I stood behind Elin to make it look like she was running in the race.  Lastly, for the dollie shot, I followed Elin running and finishing the race. After I finished filming on my iPad, I then imported it to the computer so I could drag them into iMovie.  I added a title and credits.  After that, I uploaded to Vimeo.  I think I did a good job on this assignment.
