French Toast
Ingredients:
- 2 Slices of Bread (better if a little stale)
- 1/4 Cup of milk, light cream, or half-and-half
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tbsp butter
- Maple-Flavor Syrup
- Fresh Fruit (optional)
Tools Needed:
- Shallow dish
- Fork
- Large frying pan
- Spatula
Cooking Instructions:
- Crack an egg in your shallow dish. Use a fork to beat the egg (brake the yoke so the liquid is a yellow color.
- Add milk to your egg. Mix the egg and milk with your fork until they are combined
- Melt butter over medium-low heat
- Put bread in your egg-milk mixture. Make sure you turn the bread over and get both sides.
- Hold bread over the bowl so excess mixture drips back into the bowl.
- Turn stove to medium heat and add butter. Make sure butter is coating entire pan.
- Place bread in pan. Cook 2-3 minutes until bottom of bread is golden brown.
- Flip with your spatula. Cook other side 2 -3 minutes.
- French toast is finished when both sides look like this:
