French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 2 Slices of Bread (better if a little stale)
  • 1/4 Cup of milk, light cream, or half-and-half
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Maple-Flavor Syrup
  • Fresh Fruit (optional)

Tools Needed:

  • Shallow dish
  • Fork
  • Large frying pan
  • Spatula

Cooking Instructions:

  • Crack an egg in your shallow dish.  Use a fork to beat the egg (brake the yoke so the liquid is a yellow color.
  • Add milk to your egg.  Mix the egg and milk with your fork until they are combined

  • Melt butter over medium-low heat

  • Put bread in your egg-milk mixture.  Make sure you turn the bread over and get both sides.

  • Hold bread over the bowl so excess mixture drips back into the bowl.

  • Turn stove to medium heat and add butter.  Make sure butter is coating entire pan.

  • Place bread in pan.  Cook 2-3 minutes until bottom of bread is golden brown.

  • Flip with your spatula.  Cook other side 2 -3 minutes.
  • French toast is finished when both sides look like this:

  • Put French toast on plate, drizzle with maple syrup:
