Peeling and Dicing Garlic

  1. Separate the individual cloves of garlic
  2. Use a large chef’s knife, put the individual clove of garlic under the knife and tap the knife with the heal of your hand.  You will then be able to peal the papery husk off the garlic.
  3. Slice fine vertical slices in the garlic
  4. Turn the garlic horizontally and make a slice down the center.  If you do not feel you can do this step safely, please skip it.  
  5. Slice fine vertical slices perpendicular to the slices you made in step 3.  Note if you skipped step 4, you will need to make extra slices.
