The Absoultely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
Mar 1st 2009gibsonRealistic Fiction
Sherman Alexi has become a favorite author of mine. This a great story about the search for identity and the struggle to fit in of a Northwestern Native American boy. What does it mean to be a part-time Indian? With all the influences that cultures and individuals live in, does anyone have a full-time identity? This is a wonderful story about education giving one the ability to rise above one’s circumstances. A story many will identify with.
