Atherton is about a boy named Edgar who at night sneaks out of the grove and climbs up a wall. Edgar lives on Atherton which has 3 levels to the surface, Flatlands, Table and the Highlands. What Edgar finds out is that the Highlands are sinking into the Table Top….read the book to find out what happens.

Thhis story is about a kid who has to hide in the attic because he is a third child. There is a law that you can’t have any more than two kids in your house. He finds another third child and meets them and goes over to their house.

The Hunger Games by Susan Collin

Katniss is part of the 12 Districts. A boy named Peeta and her are elected tributes to play in the Hunger Games. The Hunger Game is a reincarnation of a war that happened a long time ago and only one tribute can come out alive. They have to fight to stay alive or die. Read the book to find out what happens.

World Made by Hand by James Kunstler

This story takes place in the near future after nuclear bombs have devastated Los Angeles and Washington, DC. The story details the ways life changes for the residents of a small town in Upstate New York, after the explosions curtail the use of machines. The story is both disturbing and inspirational as people learn to live in a world made by hand.

This book is about a 14 year old boy named Alex.   He just finds out that his Dad is an MIG agent.  Now Alex must gather intelligence on a private school called Point Blanc. Little did he know the headmaster is a mad scientist who wants to clone rich family’s sons!

This is a story about a boy named Luke who has a fake id. It is illegal to have 3 children, and he is a 3rd child. He goes to a school under a false name and tried to help 3rd children like him, so they would be able to live outside their hidden homes.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

If you like video action games you will love this book.  It takes place in the future where the government, every year for entertainment purposes, takes 12 of its young citizens from different districts and pits them against each other ‘to the death’.  Katniss, the main character, has lived a life of survival, hunting beyond the fence, to feed her family.  She has been picked to do battle against  the 12 others.  Will she win?  Will she return to her family?  And how does her other combatants figure into all of this?

A girl named Katneiss’s sister, Prime, gets drawn for the hunger games. The hunger games is a way to punish the district 1-12. The capital is punishing them because district 13 tried to take over. Katniss has to survive in the arena against 23 other tributes who are trying to kill her.
