This book is much different from the movie. This is about a family curse, which is when anyone over the age of 16 touches a flower, they become mean and fishes. When the which kisses a frog prince, she becomes a frog as well, and tries to undo the curse.

The plot is that Greg Heffley tries to go throughout his life without embarrassing himself. The storyline is Greg goes to middle school and he tries to be the coolest guy in school.

The characters are Mom, Dad, Gregg – kind of mean, Rouly is the stupid one, Many is the baby, Rodrick is the mean one. The setting is at school, home, Rouly’s home adn in front of the school. The plot is a kid that finds himself getting thrust into middle school. Story line is about him losing his best pal and getting beat up at school and at home. The conflict is he has to go to shool to get to college. He stays at home so he doesn’t get hurt from boys outside on the weekends and even going to a kid’s home and sleep over. But Gregg hates that kid but he has nothing to do.
