How’s everyone doing?

I don’t know about you, but as this social isolation continues I find myself wanting the routines of life as it was before. I try to remind myself that this is what life is right now. We need to continue to socially isolate to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. I suggest you find ways to stay focused on what is most important to you, but continue to plant the seeds of your future.

I encourage you to start or continue to check in with the Connections staff and students each day to create an anchor so you do not drift. Complete the daily activities to the best of your ability and reach out to your case manager or advocate if you need to. We are here for you! We miss you 🙂

Each student was sent an email inviting them to participate in a 10:00am Zoom meeting daily check in and also a 12:30pm lunch gathering Monday through Friday. At the top of this page are a list of activities Connections staff have created to help provide structure and continue your learning. Use the Schedule Spring-20 tab to see which activities are recommended for today, or find the areas you want to work on and focus on those.

Hello, and welcome back!

I hope everyone had a safe and healthy weekend! There is a new link that you can choose up above and it’s titled Connections Daily Lessons. Individual advocate meetings will be scheduled during the week of April 13th. Each day Connections teachers will post activities that we hope you will accomplish in order to continue your progress towards independence. It should take you about 2 to 3 hours a day if you participate in all the activities. Again, you choose what to work on and how long you spend on it based on what is right for you.  If you, miss a day you can always look at what was posted and complete those.

Transition Activities Posted Daily Starting on Monday 4/6/20!

All the Connections staff hope that you and your loved ones are safe and happy while you continue to socially isolate. As the weeks go on we hope that you engage in healthy physical and emotional activities that keep you balanced and focused.

At this point you should all have spoken to a case manager or advocate about how you are doing, what services you would like to access and if you need technology. If you have not been contacted please reach out to us!

Next week there will be daily tasks posted to help you all continue to keep your skills and move forward. These tasks can take up to about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours if you choose to access them all. Like all Connections offerings, you decide on what you need to work on.

The following week (4/18) we will have group activities using technology to connect us together. This will give us all a chance to “see” and support each other again and return to our community.

I hope you all have a great weekend and look forward to talking with many of you next week!
