5 .  Next weeks area to investigate….where?  Lets go out of state. Find a city and make a plan : you must use bus and/or trains.

Work as independently as you can, but you may ask for help if you need it.

This week JimBob is going to go for a walk with a friend at Hendricks Park. He will meet her by Prince Puckler on 19th & Agate.   He will walk there from his work, but he needs to make a plan to get home afterwards. He and his friend are planning to be done with the walk right before sunset (around 5:00pm).   As you know he lives close to Churchill high school.

Please make a bus plan for this trip.

Good luck!!

NO CLASS NEXT WEDNESDAY!! (Veterans day)

OCT -28th

  1. Go over last weeks assignments. * VRC and the bus story problem (JimBob going from UofO to JC). Well work on these together and use screen-share to compare our answers,
  2. GO over basic streets smarts when on a trip and start  (what scares us and what can we control to make it as safe as possible).
  3. Next weeks assignments. What area shall we investigate next? And go over the new story problem.

Story Problem:

Work as independently as you can, but you may ask for help if you need it.

This week JimBob is invited to a Halloween party with his friends from work and costume is REQUIRED. BUT, he doesn’t have a costume. There is no trick-or-treating, as he’s too old for that, but they’re going to get together and watch scary movies and maybe dance/play games (naturally still social distancing). So JimBob needs go to the “Sprit Halloween Store” to buy a costume. The store is located on:

2165 W 7th Ave, Eugene, OR 97402

He’ll need to leave after his shift on Thursday. He get’s off work at 4:00pm and will walk to Dads Gate station. After having gone to the Spirit-Halloween-store he’ll need to go straight home. He lives close to Churchill high school.

Please make a bus plan for this trip.

Good luck!!

This week JimBob is about to visit his friend Eric for their monthly “THURSDAY-dinner-and-video-game-night” (he’ll spend the night there). JimBob is leaving his work at the coffee shop (at UofO near Dads Gate station) at 4:45pm.

Eric lives in an apartment in Junction City (close to the downtown bus station “Lindeborg” in JC)

Make a bus plan that gets JimBob to Junction City on Thursday evening. JimBob needs to be back on time for his shift starting at the UofO coffee shop at 8:00am on Friday morning. Or will JimBob need to inform his boss and that he’s going to be late..?

Good luck!!

3. Bus Plan Story Problem

Work as independently as you can, but you may ask for help if you need it.

Susan works weekdays at a coffee shop near the U of O (1 block from

Dad’s Gate bus stop). She lives in an apartment at Fountain Villa

(Sheldon Plaza).

Make a bus plan that gets her to U of O on time for her morning shift

(she starts at 10:00 am). Include a Back-Up plan in case she misses the

bus (this is the bus plan – going).

Finish the bus plan so she goes straight home after work. She is done

with work at 2:00 pm. (This is the bus plan – back). Make a Back-Up

plan in case she misses her bus (sometimes she stays to have a cup of

coffee with her co-worker Jim-Bob after her shift ).

Good luck!!
