Hi Everyone,

Here’s the final edition of Allan’s Announcements for the school year.

Nine items of note for this week:

• Welcome More New Staff – Corridor’s remaining open position at kindergarten has now been filled. Marnie Price will be taking the kinder position left vacant by Cari, who’s moving to 2nd grade. Marnie taught kindergarten at Willagillespie and is returning from a leave. She also has a second grader currently enrolled at Corridor. Please welcome Marnie to our schools. YG’s vacant 4/5 facilitating position and our Learning Center position both have yet to be officially filled. I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything.
• Laptop/Equipment Summer Check-Out – As in past years, staff are allowed to take your laptop home for the summer. If you are planning to do this, you will need to complete the attached checkout form even if you have done this before. This form should turned in to the office before you leave for the summer. Let me know if you have any questions.
• Year End Check Lists Due Friday – Remember to complete and turn in your Year End Check List before you leave for the summer. Make sure that everything in your room is boxed or stored in a manner that can easily moved into the hallway during summer cleaning.
• Staff Potluck Thursday, 11:45 in the Cafeteria – If you haven’t done so already, please sign-up for what kind of salad, desert, chips or drink you would like to bring to our end-of-the-year celebration.
• 2011-2012 Report Back Dates – Things can always change between now and then, but for the moment, teachers report back on August 31st. I unfortunately haven’t received the classified dates yet, so classified folks should stay tuned.
• Computer Imaging Thursday & Friday – 4J CIS staff will be coming out to image student laptops this Thursday and Friday. I put off having them come as late as possible so classrooms would not lose laptop access while kids are still here.
• Field Day Reminder, Tuesday & Wednesday – Please remember that each school had agreed to forego their recess during the other school’s field day. YG’s Field Day is Tuesday afternoon and Corridor’s Field Day is Wednesday morning.
• New Phone Training, Wednesday – An email was sent earlier, but there will be a training for all staff this Wednesday at 12:30 in the Corridor Library on the new phone system that will be installed here over the summer (or possibly later this week).
• Just for Laughs – The Worst Playground Idea Ever – Along the lines of nightmare inducing dinosaur assembly video I posted a couple months ago, here’s possibly the worst idea for a piece of playground equipment I’ve ever seen. This video was taken in Stockholm, Sweden and the website I found the video on called it a “spinning lawsuit factory.” [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_il1m8NJbDY[/youtube]
