Just three items of note (and two goofy Blog-Only links) for this week.

• Spring EasyCBM Testing – As we approach the end of the year, it’s almost time to gear up for Spring EasyCBM testing. Here are the important points:

o The testing window for Reading and Math testing is from May 4 – 29.
o Reading Testers will be in the building May 18-22.
o Classroom teachers, grades 2-5, will be responsible for administering the online Reading Comprehension portion of the test.
o Classroom teachers, grades 3-5, will be responsible for administering the online Vocabulary portion of the test.
o Classroom teachers, grades 1-5, will be responsible for administering the computations and applications math assessments (1st grade paper/pencil, 2-5 online).
o Teachers should allow up to 1 hour for administration of the reading comprehension test (2-5), 1 hour for the administration of vocabulary tests (3-5), and two 45 minute sessions to administer parts 1 and 2 of the math assessment.

• Fire Drill Thursday – Pending dry weather, we’ll have our April fire drill at 10:30 on Thursday the 16th.
• Free Natural Gas Safety Curriculum – NW Natural is offering a free curriculum on how to use natural gas wisely. If you order the free workbooks, you get entered for a free iPod Nano. http://www.enterpriseforeducation.com/nwnatural.html
• BLOG ONLY LINK – Google Street View – Many of you are familiar with Google Maps, but you may not know about Google Street View (http://maps.google.com/help/maps/streetview/), which I recently discovered has been done for Eugene. Using Google Street View, you can view street level photographs, take virtual walks, pan, rotate, and zoom through cities around the world. Here’s a link to the UO Bookstore. Click and grab the image and you can turn it around and see Taylor’s. Unfortunately, Google didn’t make it all the way down Silver Lane to our schools. They only made it up to North’s entrance and stopped. And here is a link to the street level map of Tokyo, Japan. Have fun with it!
• BLOG ONLY LINK – Where the Wild Things Are Trailer – I’m quiet excited about this live action film version of Maruice Sendak’s classic book, directed by Spike Jonze (Being John Macovich). Follow this link to see the very cool trailer http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/wherethewildthingsare/

Have a good one!
