Hello Everyone,

Five items of note for this week:

• Welcome New Staff – With staff from closing schools now placed and the classified bumping process finishing, we now know who some of our new staff members will be for next school year. At Corridor, Lisa Defrancesco will be taking Marlene’s one-on-one position in the CLC. Sheryl Kelly (a Title 1 IA coming from Meadowlark) will be a four hour Title 1 instructional assistant. Marilyn Krumdiek from YG and the Learning Center will be a new six hour Corridor IA. Susan Nyegaard (a learning center IA coming from Holt) will fill Richard’s position at 6.75hours as our new learning center IA (3.75 hours) and also in the CLC (3 hours). For certified, Ben Dechter (returning from a leave to teach abroad this past year) will be teaching 4th grade, Debbie Jaffarian (a TLC and facilitating teacher coming from Parker) will be the Title 1 Coordinator. Pete Wergeland from YG 5th grade will be teaching 5th grade at Corridor. The kinder position left vacant by Cari moving to 2nd grade is still unfilled at this point. ESS has also not yet placed anyone into the half-time Learning Center position. At YG, there is an open 4/5 English facilitating position that has not yet officially been filled, but looks like there is someone who will likely soon be placed here officially. Sharon Tabor (currently the After School Programs Coordinator for the school district) will be the 0.5 counselor for both schools and will also be 0.5 downtown in her current position. Please welcome these new folks to our building and I’ll keep you posted as I get more updates about the vacancies.
• Grades 3/4/5 Strings Concert – Just a reminder that 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes are invited to come to a strings assembly Wednesday, May 25th morning at 8:45 in the cafeteria. See our current 4th and 5th graders in the program perform.
• Annual Safety Inspection – Possibly this week or next, will be our annual safety inspection. Crystal and I will be coming through classrooms for our pre-inspection. Staff should make sure your teaching spaces are in compliance with the following:

• Hallway walls cannot have more than 20% covered in paper or other materials.
• 3 foot pathway to all of your exit doors.
• No extension cords. Power strips only.
• Cord covers for all power cords in walk ways.
• No power strips plugged into another power strip.
• Nothing hanging from your ceiling, lights, or overhead wires.
• Any cloth hanging on your wall must be fire proofed.

• OAKS Testing Window Closes Monday – Monday, May 23rd is the last day for students to take the OAKS tests. All 3-5 students have had at least one shot at the test, but Monday is the last day for anyone wanting to complete their final attempt.
• easyCBM Data Input – Just a reminder that if you want help with data entry of Spring Benchmark easyCBM tests, Ruby can input scores for YG and Jon can input scores for Corridor. They will need the scores no later than Thursday, May 26th, a week before the testing window closes. All scores must be entered no later than Friday, June 3rd.

Four (four day) weeks to go!
