Hello Everyone,

It’s snowing outside as I type this, so who knows, maybe we’ll get a three day weekend and another day to adjust to Daylight Savings Time, but I’m sure that’s wishful thinking.

Four items of note for this week:

• Free Music Lessons Vouchers from the Lesson Factory – If you are aware of students that could benefit from The Lesson Factory music instruction, please let me know. They are offering a limited number of free lesson passes. http://www.thelessonfactory.com/
• Pacific University Guatemala Spanish Immersion Summer Class – A group of teachers this July will be traveling to Guatemala for the entire month to immerse in the Spanish language and culture of the country. You can earn 4 credits and apply them to an ESOL endorsement at Pacific or for EDUC 555 Special Topics for 3 credits at any time. See me if you’d like further details.
• Water Safety Outreach Program – The US Army Corps of Engineers and Lane County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol are offering a K-4, interactive, 45 minute Water Safety Presentation to elementary schools between April 1 – May 15. The focus is to teach student how to use rivers and lakes safely, emphasizing hazards and life-saving equipment. For further information and for scheduling, contact Christie Johnson at (541) 942-5631.
• Fire Drill this Thursday (Take Two) – The weather forecast is clear for this Thursday, so we’ll try it again this Thursday at 10:45.
• Blog Only Link – Mosquito Ringtone – Not school related, but I’m just sharing this for fun. This past week I’ve been fascinated by the Mosquito Ringtone, which is a ringtone kids are putting on their phones that adults cannot hear. Check out this website and test your hearing http://www.freemosquitoringtones.org/ I can barely hear the “30 and Younger” ringtone, but nothing below that.

Have a great week and see you all on Monday or Tuesday depending upon the weather!
