Hi All,
Four items of note for this week:
• Parent/Teacher Conferences – I’m available to sit in on any conference teachers would like me to attend. Just let me know so I get it on my calendar.
• American Red Cross Flu Season Materials K-3 – Flu season is here and The Red Cross can provide teachers K-3 with “Scrubby Bear,” a free presentation that can fit your classroom schedule and teach students how germs are spread, how to prevent the spread of disease, and how to properly wash their hands. . If you’re interested, contact Nathan at the Oregon Pacific Chapter for more information. (541) 344-5244 keffern@oregonpacific.redcross.org
• ACLU Report – Oregon’s School To Prison Pipeline – Attached is an interesting report from the ACLU about how students of color are disproportionately punished both at schools and also by the courts compared to their white peers.
• Must See Video on Changing Education Paradigms! – This animate was adapted from a talk given at the RSA by Sir Ken Robinson, world-renowned education and creativity expert and recipient of the RSA’s Benjamin Franklin award.
