Hi All,

Welcome back to a short three-day week. Three items for folks to take note of:

• Winter easyCBM Testing – All elementary students K-5th in will be tested in reading and all 1st-5th students will be tested in math. Here are the details:

o The winter benchmark window for reading and math will be from Tuesday, January 6th until Friday, January 23rd.
o Testers will administer all reading measure with the exception of the comprehension measures. Classroom teachers will be responsible for administering the online reading comprehension measure for 2nd -5th grade students.
o Classroom teachers will be responsible for administering the math assessment (1st/2nd will be paper/pencil, 3rd-5th will be online).
o Each classroom will need to allow up to 1 hour for administration of the reading comprehension test and two 45 minute sessions to administer parts 1 and 2 of the math assessment.
o An online training video for teachers will be available the first part of December. This video will give step by step instructions on how to administer the reading comprehension and math assessments on the easyCBM website. The district will notify us as soon as the training becomes available.

• Back Up Your Hard Drive – Jacque already sent this to YG, but attached and on the blog (backinguphomefolder.pdf) are some easy, step-by-step directions on how to back-up your computer onto the district server. I try to back my computer files up at least once a month. Let me know if you’d like help doing this. And here is a link to a How-To-Video http://staff.4j.lane.edu/~young_p/tech/Treks/How-Tos_/Entries/2008/11/21_Backing_up_your_computer.html
• Allan for Classroom Volunteer – If you’d ever like an extra hand in your classroom to fill-in for a parent that didn’t show up or you could use an extra hand with a special project you’re doing, just let me know and I’d love to help out. I’m missing working with kids and need a fix.

Have an excellent week everyone!

Allan
