Hi Everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed your three day, Valentine weekend. I spent mine at the coast with my wife, on our first night away from our baby. It was fun, but we missed little Gracie.

Five items of note for this week.

• TAG Testing – The district will soon be conducting their annual TAG testing. If you have any students you feel should be tested for TAG, let me know by the end of this week. I can contact parents and send home the permission form to test. This round of testing will focus on students who might qualify in the Intellectually Gifted category, different from an eligibility in an academic area like reading or math. Attached a list of common characteristics of intellectually gifted students. The test used is called the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test. (NNAT). Please let me know if you have any questions.
• CLC/RLC Support Staff Changes – Karen Kirkman, who has been a temporary IA in the CLC is moving to Ridgeline starting February 16th. Kristi Benz will be taking her place. Kristi currently works as an Autism IA, so she should be an excellent fit for our program. Please welcome Kristi to our school community!
• Annie Preview Performance Assembly – Upstart Crow Studios, a non-profit youth performing arts company, has offered to do a preview performance of their upcoming production of Annie. I’ve scheduled one performance for each school. The performances will be on Monday, February 22nd, 8:30-8:55 for Corridor and 9:00-9:25 for YG.
• Madison Middle School Band Performance – The Madison Band would like to perform for each of our schools on Tuesday, April 27th. They’ll do a performance for each school so all classes who want to come can attend. YG’s performance will be 9:30-10:00. Corridor’s performance will be 10:10-10:40. As with the assembly above, is an optional assembly, so if you have other plans for your classes, you do not have to attend.
• Earthquake/Fire Drill – Our February fire drill with be this Thursday at 12:30. Please plan accordingly.

Have a great week!

Allan
