Just three items of note for this week.
• 2010-2011 Staffing Date Change – HR has pushed back the date they are giving buildings their staffing for next school year. Depending upon the action and meeting dates of the district budget committee, principals will get staff either March 12 or 17 (although there is a slight chance it may be earlier). The new deadline for staffing to be completed is April 15th.
• Staffing Survey – As I’ve done each year, I’ll be emailing out a survey of what you would like to be doing here at school next year and beyond. I’d also like to know folks ideas on our staffing plan for next year. What are your priorities and where do you think we could make cutd. You can reply to me via email or putting a hardcopy in my mailbox (although I prefer email).
• Black History Month – If any of you are doing lessons around Black History Month, here is a good link on the Dos and Don’ts of teaching Black History from Teaching Tolerance. The site also has many appropriate classroom activities if you click on the “Classroom Activities” link.
