Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving Break. If you’re counting, there’s only three more weeks until Winter Break. On a related note, the Winter Reading Benchmark testing window is now open and goes up until Winter Break. Teachers, if you want Ruby or Michael to enter scores for you into easyCBM, be sure to get them your scores by Monday, December 14th. Also, remember to select “easyCBM” in AESOP if you are calling in a sub.

Just two items of note for this week:

• National Women’s History Project Presenters Available in March – The Center for the Study of Women in Society was recently awarded presentation grants for a series of talks they are making available to 4J schools for Women’s History Month (March 2010). The 20–30 minute presentations, ranging from women’s roles in agriculture to the contributions of women composers, will be prepared for a general audience in recognition of the National Women’s History Project. If you are interested in having a classroom presentation, contact Shirley Marc (shirmarc@uoregon.edu)
• Video Website – WatchKnow.org – Here’s a website produced by Larry Sanger, co-founder of Wikipedia, and has loads of videos from various places including TeacherTube and is sorted by content area, topic, and grade level. http://www.watchknow.org

Have a great week, everyone!

Allan
