Howdy Everyone,

I hope you all have plans for a nice Thanksgiving Break. Be sure to take some time for yourself and remember to build in some rest and relaxation time.

Just three items of note for this week:

• Winter Benchmark Testing – When ordering subs to relieve you to administer Winter Benchmark testing, select “easyCBM” in AESOP. This code will be open to staff beginning this Monday. Again, the testing window is from November 30 – December 18th. If you want Michael (Corridor) or Ruby (YG) to enter your data into system, scores need to be delivered to them by Monday, December 14th.
• BRING Recycling Outreach – BRING Recycling is offering to present information to classes on the importance of Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling. They are also avle to take students on tours of the Glenwood Central Receiving Station, Short Mountain Landfill, and The Planet Improvement Center. These trips help kids learn the impact their trash has on the local community. If you are interesting in the opportunity, you may contact Brett Jacobs at brettj@bringrecycling.org
• Good ArticleAttached is a great article I got from Carmen Urbina. It’s a good companion article to the one we read as a staff earlier this year, which reinforces the point of how early kids form opinions about race and how important it is for schools and families to help shape these opinions. It’s a good read if you can find the time to read the short article from Newsweek.

Enjoy your three-day week!
