Happy Monday All!

We all survived our short first week with kids. Now it’s the big five-day week with students.

Four items of note for this week.

• easyCBM Benchmark Testing – This week begins the window for Fall EasyCBM Benchmark testing. In addition to information given previously (see Sara Cramer’s email for several recent updates), the district has a few new bits of information for staff:

o Online Testing – CIS recommends using Safari for the online tests and not Firefox at this time.
o Student Copies – We have ordered test administrator copies for each student (where you record each student’s score), which will be given to teachers as soon as they arrive, but teachers will need to run off their own student copy for the students to read off of.

And again, check the easyCBM website for the 4J Fall Testing guidelines (which are pretty straight forward) and also for a more general easyCBM administration manual. http://www.4j.lane.edu/testing/easycbm
• School Nurse Schedule – Ann Anderson, our new school nurse, will be at Corridor Tuesday afternoons and at YG on Wednesday afternoons. On her other days, she’ll be at Spring Creek Tuesday morning, River Road Wednesday morning, and at Cal Young on Thursdays.
• “Handling Informal Complaints” Form– The district had decided to stop using this form and will not be using it in the future. The rationale is one, that best practice requires that administrators give prompt notice to employees about complaints, so that employees have an opportunity to know about and correct problems early on. And two, Article 12.9 of the EEA / District contract requires giving unit members timely notice of parent and student complaints before the complaint can be used as part of an evaluation. For those reasons, this form is no longer being used and employees will be notified in confidence of any complaint about them.
• Data Warehouse – Teacher Dashboard Updated – The Teacher Dashboard of the Data Warehouse received a makeover this summer. Student data is reflective of your current classlists for the 09/10 school year. Testing data is reflective of OAKS last year You can access the Data Warehouse through the For Staff directory at the 4J website or through the following link http://www.4j.lane.edu/cis/is/dw A video tutorial regarding the new features is available in the 4J Video Library, which can be accessed through the For Staff directory or the following link http://www.4j.lane.edu/videolibrary . You can view the video to see its new look and features, or follow along after you login to learn how to access more detailed information about your students.

Have a fabulous week, everyone!
