starReview by Anne H.

Who would like this book? This is a book for those who like the supernatural.

The goods on this book: Rory (short for Aurora) is a fairly normal girl from Louisiana who has just moved to a Britain boarding school. Her daily activities consist of going to seven classes with an hour of field hockey, talking to her best friend and roommate Jazz, snogging Jerome, and — oh yeah — seeing the dead. After Rory’s brush with death, she can suddenly see people that no one else can. Next thing she knows, one of the people that no one else can see is right next to a murder and she’s a witness. She thinks the police will think she is crazy until she finds out her new roommate Boo is a cop that is from a special branch of the government assigned to the supernatural, or should I say ghosts. The copy-cat Jack the Ripper killer is a ghost, and it’s up to them to stop him. But remember this: ” THE NAME OF THE STAR IS WHAT YOU FEAR.”

Cirque du Freak #11: Lord of the Shadows by Darren Shan

lordReview by Tyra D.

Who would like this book? All ages, all genders, EVERYONE should read this series.

The goods on this book:

If you have read and enjoyed the other Cirque du Freak books, then this will NOT disappoint. Not too much horror, not too much humor, and the perfect characters to keep the drama interesting.

A part of me hates this book, though – it’s made me feel things I should NEVER feel… there’s SO many twists and crazy plot devices, and the writing for Darren makes you feel as if you’re actually in the room. Beautiful, but don’t plan to read this if you aren’t prepared.

The Green Mile by Stephen King

greenReview by Nick Y.

Who would like this book? I recommend this book for teenagers 14 years or older. There is some foul language here and there, and the story is very dark and takes place in a prison. But overall it is a great novel about friendship and mystery. Enjoy!

The goods on this book: Paul Edgecombe has seen many criminals die through the electric chair (or “Old Sparkey”) of Cold Mountain Penitentiary in E Block. Although he has never seen someone like John Coffey. John was accused of the deaths of two little girls he was found with near a riverbank. When the policemen found John, he was holding the two dead little girls in his arms and crying. A crying that sounds more like the howling of an animal. Later Paul Edgecombe will uncover the secret that hides within John Coffey… a secret which will change Paul’s life forever! This story might even change yours!
