bloodReview by Anne H.

Who would like this book? Percy Jackson fans, Victor Hugo, and fans of Percabeth.

The goods on this book: Jason, Piper, Leo, Annabeth, Percy, Hazel, and Frank are going in for their final showdown. Jason’s sad, Piper’s worried, and Leo is scared to say good-bye. Reyan’s tired of being alone, and Nico’s slipping away. Their final job is soon to be finished.  Are the heroes up to it? Back to the Prophecy:

Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire, the world must fall,
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.

Will Jason or Leo be the one to take down Gea?
Will Leo keep his promise to Calypso?
And did Bob and Damasen die?
All will be revealed in the bittersweet end to Rick Riordan’s masterpiece, his Heroes Of Olympus.

The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus Book 1) by Rick Riordan

heroWho would like this book? All fans of Percy Jackson won’t want to miss this exciting book!

The goods on this book: This new Percy Jackson series does not start with Percy, but that’s okay because the three characters that keep the action going are great! Jason wakes up on a bus headed to a wilderness school for unruly kids, and he seems to be in a relationship with Piper. The problem for Jason is that he can’t remember anything, and the problem for Piper is that she’s not sure about Jason’s feelings. Leo rounds out the threesome on the ill-fated bus trip. They soon discover that their demigod status means that they are in for a dangerous quest with serious consequences for mankind as well as the gods. Their quest, received at Camp Half-Blood amid all the usual teen in-fighting, catapults them into non-stop action. Each of the characters brings unique problems and potential into the plot, and it’s great to experience them meeting and overcoming challenges. I especially like Leo and his heartbreaking backstory and formidable talents with dragon-building. When you start this book, be prepared to not want to put it down and to want the next volume immediately!

Who would like this book? Anyone age 8-14 who likes fast paced action and adventure and humor, courtesy of Leo Valdez, A.K.A The Super Sized Mcshizzle, Percy Jackson, and the five other demigods in the Prophecy of Seven.

The goods on this book: House of Hades is the fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series and will be  followed by  The Blood of Olympus. I know the Mark of Athena left us with a little bit of a cliff hanger, literally, but Percy and Annabeth are alive and in the most frightening place they have ever been… Tartarus! Well, while they’re there, Leo and the crew are going to find the mortal side to the Doors of Death and find Percy and Annabeth. In this book, Percy and Annabeth befriend a Titan named Bob that Percy had fought years ago and wiped his memory clean! Make sure to pick up this book at Cal Young’s library.

Review by Austin T.

Who would like this book? People who enjoyed the Percy Jackson series would loves this book and this series. It is my opinion that this book is the best in its series. It has action, comedy, and romance.

Why? The plot of this book is that Carter and Sadie are trying to save the world from Apophis,  the god of chaos. Carter and Sadie go through trials to prove that they are worthy of even trying to save the world. In the end it comes down to ability, trust, and most of all, luck. Some of there friends die and some help, but it is pretty much of a romance, too. Check this book out and see what happens!

Review by Maddison R.

Who would like this book? I think you would like this book if you like Roman and Greek mythology and the gods.

Why? The characters are Percy, Hazel, and Frank. They face many conflicts like fighting off giants. The settings are all over the place from Camp Jupiter to each character’s background. This book took a little bit to get started, but after it did it was hard to put down. I like how the characters all had something they were hiding from each other because it made you anxious to figure out what they were hiding.
