Who would like this book? Anyone who loves scary stories!

Why? Anyone who loves scary stories would love Skeleton Creek because this story is frightening and will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know more!
Skeleton Creek is about two people named Ryan and Sarah. Ryan just got out of the hospitol with a broken leg. Ryan is retelling the story of when he and Sarah went into the mysterious dredge, where Ryan saw a “phantom” and where he broke his leg falling. Ryan and Sarah start figuring out piece by piece about a secret society and about the ghost. Is there really a ghost in the dredge? And what will happen to Sarah and Ryan if they find it?

crossbonesWho would like this book? People who like a good mystery and would like to try to figure it out along with the book. Also, people who have read the first and second book; otherwise, it doesn’t make very much sense!

Why? The main characters are Ryan, Ryan’s best friend Sarah, Ryan’s dad, Ryan’s mom, Ryan’s kind-of friend Fitz, Fitz’s dad, the Raven, and Old Joe Bush. This book is packed full with surprises that will DEFINITELY surprise you! This book is my favorite so far! I can’t wait to read the next, because these books just keep getting better! I loved this book, and I know you will, too!

Skeleton Creek: Ryan’s Journal by Patrick Carman

skeleton creekWho would like this book? People who like mysteries and scary books.

Why? Strange things are happening in Skeleton Creek and Ryan and Sarah are trying to figure them out. Right before the dredge shut down in 1985, Old Joe Bush died. Legend says that he died by falling into the gears and drowning because he had too much stolen gold in his pockets, but Sarah and Ryan think he got pushed. Most of the book is written as Ryan’s journal and Sarah’s videos are spread throughout the story as well. You can look them up online to watch. I think this story is engrossing and suspenseful!

Skeleton Creek series by Patrick Carman

skeleton creekWho would like this book? Anyone who loves stories that give you the chills!! Don’t read this book if you’re scared easily because this book won’t make you go to bed at night!! Even if you do not like to read books, this is so different because it has videos you watch on the Internet every little while which makes it super realistic.

Why? This series takes you through an amazing adventure of how Ryan and his best friend Sarah take on one of the mysteries of an abandoned dredge. They live in a boring town of Skeleton Creek and all they want is something new and adventurous! Trying to figure out this mystery they run into suspicious people, dead and alive. This is definitely one of my favorite series because I am not really a “horror” reader, but even though I am not, I can not resist reading these books!

Crossbones by Patrick Carman

crossbonesWho would like this book? People who like to read mysteries, adventurous books about kids, and anyone who likes a good short series.

Why? I loved this book and thought it was better than Skeleton Creek and Ghost in the Machine. The only thing I didn’t like about all three books was the akward and confusing transitions from each book.
This is the third book in the “Skeleton Creek Series” and focuses on Sarah’s trip across the states as she still tries to find information about the town “Skeleton Creek”. Her parents don’t know what she’s acually doing so she had to lie to them, just as Ryan has to lie to his parents about what she’s doing. It involves haunted schools at midnight and digging in cemetaries after dark. If I give any more information I will give away the book and ending to Ghost in the Machine, so I won’t get into detail, but Ryan’s family “Got the money” (You’ll find out how they got it if you read it) and his dad opened up a fishing shop. He hired Ryan and a boy named “Fritz” from his football team. Or more like the cheering squad since they are the two who sit on the bench the whole time. Someway, all these characters have a connection. This book has a suprising ending, and they dicover who “The Raven” is, “Old Joe Bush”, and who the “Apostle” is.
