dreamReview by Grace N.

Who would like this book? Everyone who read The Raven Boys needs this book. It’s an amazing sequel!!!!! It’s as good as the first, perhaps even better.

The goods on this book: Ronan Lynch can take things from his dreams. Also his father. But he’s dead. Adam is Cabeswater’s hands and eyes. But even Adam doesn’t know what that means, especially when Cabeswater dissappears. Gansey’s mother is running for Congress, while he still searches for Glendower in the now missing Cabeswater. Blue is NOT in love with Gansey. Or Adam. And Noah’s a ghost. The Dream Thieves is SUCH a good book. I just couldn’t stop reading it, and I’m sure that anybody who reads the sequel to The Raven Boys will, too. It just has nonstop excitement.

Who would like this book? I think that anybody would enjoy this book, and I would definitely suggest it to any of my friends. It has action, magic, and romance.

The goods on this book: Blue is a psychic’s daughter, but she isn’t a psychic. So she shouldn’t see a spirit on that night, when the dead-to-be walk past the old church. Especially a raven boy. Unless she killed him or… he’s her true love. Blue Sargent gets tied into Gansey and his three friends’ search for a long lost Welsh king, all the while wondering whether Gansey is her true love who she might kill with a single kiss.

jeremyfinkReview by Kennedy H.

Who would like this book? I think both genders would enjoy this book very much. Ages 11-13 or 14 would probably like this book the most. Also, people who like action fiction that has some plot twists to it would like this book a lot!

The goods on this book: Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life is a great book! It’s set in present-day New York and is about two best friends, Jeremy Fink and Lizzie Muldoun. Lizzie is an outgoing girl who is willing to do anything to get what she wants. Jeremy likes staying in his comfort zone, staying safe, and collecting candy. They’re searching for the four missing keys to the box Jeremy’s deceased father gave to him. The problem is, he doesn’t know where to look for them. Jeremy and Lizzie search all over New York and meet a lot of new people and do a lot of new things that they had no idea they would do! I think this book was really good and kept me wanting to read more. Wendy Mass is a fantastic author, and this is another one of her great books!

An oath to keep with a final breath,

Will Leo keep his promise to Calypso?

Perfect Shot by Elaine Marie Alphin

shotWho would like this book? Anyone, grades 7 and up, who likes murder mysteries, basketball action, social issues, relationship issues, and/or meaningful history.

The goods on this book: In this ambitious book, Brian struggles to come to terms with the violent deaths of his girlfriend Amanda, her brother, and her mom. Their father has been charged with shooting them to death, but Brian saw another person close to the scene of the crime. He assumes that those in charge are following up on his lead, and he continues his senior year as leader of a basketball team that are tight as brothers but must work to keep their grades up. A unique assignment from their history teacher connects Brian with Todd, an outsider who has been the target of their bullying. They must research the 1913 Leo Frank murder case, which turns out to have disturbing parallels to the current murder trial of Amanda’s father. Another significant layer of this book’s engaging plot involves Julian, the star of the basketball team who encounters trouble only because he is African-American. The author does a great job of pulling all the different parts of the plot together, and Brian is an engaging, empathetic narrator. As the book drives toward its thrilling climax, I couldn’t put it down!

Who would like this book? Whoever likes action, romance, horses, and myths should definitely consider this book. It’s great, and deserves to be read. I LOVED reading The Scorpio Races.

The goods on this book: Sean Kendrick is the six time winner of the Scorpio races, a deadly race with water horses that can rip your arm off in a flash. But Sean knows he can trust Corr. To him, Corr is everything. Even worth risking his life again for.

Puck’s world is falling down. Gable is leaving. They have precious little money. And her house might get sold. But the Scorpio races might change that. She goes against the fastest horses there are, half sea mad with a puny island horse, and Puck will most likely die. It might stop her brother from leaving.

And when his nephew Keirran may shatter the faery world and his own life, Ethan’s decisions are split. Even worse, dangerous fey, the Forgotten, may be on the verge of rising. This sequel (prequel) to The Lost Prince is a great book, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I would suggest this series for everybody who needs a good book.

Who would like this book? I think that anybody who likes fantasy, mystery, or action could read this book. Anyone who has also read The Iron Fey series would also like this book.

The goods on this book: Ethan Chase has the Sight. He can see the faery, and has nothing but disgust for them. He does not speak to Them, talk to Them, or acknowledge his Sight. Until he is attacked, and is forced to seek help from his faery Queen sister who left him with Kenzie, a mortal girl. And in the Faery world, there are twists at every turn.
This was a great book, and I would definitely recommend it. It kept me up all night!
