Who would like this book? Anyone 13 and over who likes reading about drugs and drama.

The goods on this book: Kristina gets hooked on meth when she moves to her dad’s house in the summer. She has became really addicted to it. When she is on it, she calls it her “other side” and names it Bri. She is struggling to life trying to get off of it but doesn’t know how or who to ask for help. I thought the book was really good but had some disturbing content.

heavenReview by Bronson H.

Who would like this book? 6th graders and up would like this book if they are interested in God and the afterlife.

The goods on this book:  Todd Burpo is a pastor of a church in Nebraska and is Colton’s dad. When Colton was age 3 or 4, he got sick and almost died but his heart never stopped beating. He recovered and started talking about heaven. Colton told the details of heaven very slowly over years. Colton’s dad wrote the book “Heaven is for Real” when Colton was 12 years old. I thought the book was awesome because it mentioned Bible verses while Colton was telling the story. I also loved the book because Colton gave good details of what Jesus looked like and who Colton met in heaven.

katherineReview by Chloe C.

Who would like this book? An Abundance of Katherines is a comedy fiction book that’s a quick and easy read. I wold recommend it to anyone, especially girls ages 12-15.

The goods on this book: Colin, a former child prodigy, has spent his whole life on quiz shows, learning languages, and falling in love with girls named Katherine. He’s just broken up with his nineteenth Katherine, leaving him devastated. His charismatic best friend Hassan decides it’s time Colin takes the pressure off himself and whisks him off on a road trip without a destination. They end up in an unknown town with a family that works in a textile industry when Colin gets an idea. He decides he can create a mathematical formula to predict how each and every relationship will go. Filled with stories and flashbacks from each of Colin’s failed relationships and plenty of hilarious moments, An Abundance of Katherines is great for anyone that’s interested. This book was a quick but enjoyable read, with dynamic characters and an intriguing storyline.

Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko

caponeReview by Calin M.

Who would like this book? I think this would be a good book for both genders. I would personally recommend this book to others.

The goods on this book: This book is mainly about a family that moved to Alcatraz for their Dad’s work. The main characters in this book are Matthew, also called Moose; Natalie, Matthew’s sister; Piper, the Wardens daughter; Scout, Matthew’s friend; Cameron, Matthews Dad; Warden Williams, the warden; and Al Capone, the notorious criminal. Natalie gets sent to Esther P. Marinoff School, a school that would help Natalie with her education since she was a very challenged learner. This was really hard on Matthew’s family because they really cared about Natalie, and really worried that she wouldn’t make it at Esther P. Marinoff. If you would like an easy, but interesting read I think this is the book for you!

The details: 228 pages; 2004    Review by Calin M.

lifeReview by Mazzy N.

Who would like this book? People who like fiction and are older then 11. I think both genders would like this book.

The goods on this book: Miranda is sixteen years old and still writes a diary, but maybe it’s a good thing. A meteor is going to hit and everyone gathers. When it hits is when the disaster start: the blizzards, earthquakes, volcanoes. Miranda and her family may be safe for while, but what happens when they run out of food or get sick? Nobody knows, but they do know that they have to keep each other alive. Miranda was never a happy person, but now she feels as if this experience has helped her in many ways. She knows what it means to struggle to survive, and in the end it was all worth it even if not everybody made it out alive. I thought this book was really good and had a lot of detail.
