The Transition Times

Job Fair  – no classes offered at Connections this afternoon as we’ll all go to the JobFair. 

Time: Wednesday April 19th from 12:30pm to 2:00pm

Location: Spark,  on 7th ave. Across the street from the Hult Center.

Info & timeline: At 11:00 am, we will have an early lunch at Connections (Hot Dogs & fruit salad provided by Connections)

We will take the LTD bus from connections to downtown around 12:00. (There will be no afternoon classes, please make arrangements to leave from downtown around 2:30pm)

Prior to leaving we will print out our Resumes and practice interviewing skills.

Please dress appropriately for informal job interviews as you will be meeting many potential employers.  Also, if it’s raining please ware a raincoat/bring umbrella as there will be some walking and waiting outside at the JobFair.

Friday April 7th at 1:00, “Best Buddies” from UofO will come and present at Connections building. This is a great opportunity to get involved with recreational activities in the community. Hope to see you there.

Spring is finally here! If you have not scheduled for Spring term (Starting Tuesday April 4th) please contact your case manager.

On Friday March 24th regularly scheduled classes will be cancelled because we are going bowling and then eat pizza at Papa’s Coburg.

Join us at any point in the day, you can choose the following:
– Arrive at the Connections building by 11:00am to take the activity van to Emerald Lanes at 11:30am

-Meet at LCC downtown lobby by 11:45am to get into the activity van

-Meet at Emerald Lanes 140 Oakway Rd. Eugene, Oregon 97401 at 12:00pm

-Activity van will drive students to Papa’s pizza at 1:15pm

-Meet at Papa’s pizza at 1:30pm

-2:30pm Activity Van will transport students back to the bus station and then back to the Connections Building

The Connections Spring Schedule is now available and we will be scheduling with students over the next two weeks. To see the schedule and the course descriptions click on the “Spring 23 schedule” tab above.

There are no school/advocates/work sites for Connections students Thursday 3/16 and Friday 3/17. This is due to progress Reports and a teacher work relief day. Connections staff will be participating in the Oregon Statewide Transition Conference these days. We will be selling paracord keychains, lanyards and dog collars from our production class.

Due to the snow and ice Connections will be open at noon today Thursday February 23rd.  We do not know if lunches will be available so eat or pack one if you need to.  Lane Community College is closed for the full day.  A connections staff will be in the lobby to allow students into the downtown LCC location. If you are unsure what to do call or text Jasmin at 541 760-5590. Connections classes will meet at LCC downtown in the afternoon.

Swim at Sheldon today. We’ll meet in the 210 LCC-classroom at 1:00 to go over expectations,  and we’ll leave on bus #67 at 1:30. Swim will be from 2-2:40pm,  and then go back on bus #66 at 3:14.

All Connections classes and advocates are cancelled this coming Friday for bowling, food and socializing.

– Connections students will be going to Emerald Lanes at 140 Oakway Rd, Eugene OR 97401 at 11:30am.

– Students can meet at the bowling alley at 11:30am or an activity van will be available to transport student from 2120 Bailey Hill leaving at 11:00am.

-Afterwards students will be treated to a pizza lunch at Papa’s Pizza on Coburg Rd at 1:00pm and we will provide items for a white elephant gift exchange (if you want to.)

-Students will return to 2120 Bailey Hill by 2:50pm.

We hope you have a healthy, restful Winter break! Winter Break will be Saturday 12/17/22 through Tuesday 1/3/23. Winter term begins on Wednesday 1/4/23 and we are so excited to start the second term with you.
