Laurie and April from Laurel Hill came and spoke to the students on Friday. They are based in Eugene and they provide mental health services for those in the community experiencing chronic debilitating mental illness Support for people experiencing diagnosed with mental health concerns
Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday they accept walk in intakes beginning at 9am. They can assess if you have a mental health concern if you aren’t already diagnosed. A person needs to have OHP insurance to pay for their services.
These are the services they can provide:
- How to navigate and skill build around mental health
- Acute Community Treatment (ACT) team for those who need help every day to manage mental health
- Prescriber services and therapists; Nurses
- Community support team with housing specialists; daily living activities
- Classes on different topics; a drop in social program
- Supported academics
- Help explore interests and hobbies and how to turn it into a job
