Hi All,

Five items of note for Halloween week:

• Data Warehouse & EasyCBM Scores – The district assessment scores from easyCBM are now loaded into the Data Warehouse. All reports, including Parent Reports, will reflect this update. It will be updated weekly for the time being while an automation routine is developed to perform a nightly load. Let me know if you need help using the Data Warehouse or EasyCBM site. http://www.4j.lane.edu/cis/is/dw
• TAG Testing Referrals DUE Nov. 6th – Just like last year, TAG testing will be done twice during the school year using the NNAT assessment. Testing will take place between Nov 12-21. This test is indented for students who you feel may be TAG and/or exhibit the following traits:

a. Think outside the box
b. Express ideas and concepts above the level of their age-group peers
c. Score high in academic areas (reading and/or math) but not necessarily at or above the 97%ile
d. At times have academic scores that do not measure up to what we would think they can do based on the ideas and concepts they share verbally

If you have students you would like to be tested, let me (or MJ & Christine at Corridor) know and we’ll need to give you a parent permission slip to get signed and returned before Nov. 6th. We also have an informational letter about the test you can give parents of students who you refer.
• Putters Achievement Certificates – Putters miniature golf has donated student achievement certificates, which are essentially worth five dollars each, and can be handed out at teachers’ discretion as rewards for attendance, progress, grades, behavior, or as you see fit. I have a stack of these in each office, so drop by if you’d like some for your class.
• OAKS Testing – Just a heads-up for teachers planning to test soon, you may want to explore OAKS on the laptops you are using prior to putting them in front of students. The Howard principal sent out an email saying they are having to work through some issues at their building.
• Veteran’s Day Lesson Materials – If you are teaching anything around Veteran’s Day, The Department of Veteran’s Affairs sent a CD with lesson plans and videos intended for teachers. See me if you would like the CD. The lesson plan portion can be download here vdayteacherguide.pdf

Have a spooky week everyone!

Allan
