I interviewed Alan Schwake, my paternal grandfather. The interview took place in Oregon, on Thanksgiving day – November 22nd.  I selected my grandpa because he has lived in many places and has also done a lot in his life, so I knew he would have a lot to talk about. The interview lasted eleven minutes. While interviewing my grandpa we talked about his life, some advice he has, and what he has learned in his life.

Start listening at 4:32 and stop at 8:17

At the start of the interview I was really nervous because I don’t really like interviewing people because I don’t think I am that good at it, but I am glad I did because I learned a lot. A couple of things that I learned from the interview are to be honest and to be kind because those are two things my Grandpa said are really important to do in the interview. Something that surprised me in the interview was that my Grandpa played baseball because I never knew that. Nothing I learned from this interview changed my perspective on my Grandpa because I know that he is kind and nice man. I feel like the interview went by more quickly than I thought it would. Some questions made my Grandpa bring up my Grandma and that made some memories come into my mind when my Grandpa was happy with her before she passed away. I am really glad we had to do this assignment because I learned a lot of new things about my grandpa that I will cherish for a lifetime.
