Students pick a topic of their choice – preferably one they are passionate about, and can find enough supporting facts, evidence through research with online library resources and other web resources, research their topic and take notes using MS Word, learn how to make proper citations for a bibliography using MS Word, and write a minimum of 3 paragraphs (5-7 sentences each) using standard reporting formatting per specifications taught and modeled in class.

The finished pieces (uploaded as 2 separate files) are saved as a MS Word .docx file and a .pdf file – the .pdf files is uploaded to their Tech Lit page on their ePortfolio and displayed in the standard ePortfolio format: Naming the assignment (title), giving the assignment description (can be copied from above here), showing the assignment (link to the .pdf file with an accurate link name), and a reflection statement (restate the assignment task (WHAT), tell steps taken to complete the assignment (HOW), and what the student thinks of their effort and work quality (SELF-EVALUATION).

Reflection: I thought this project was a very good way of introducing me to one way of using Easybib. First we took notes while getting our citations done. Once I found a good website I copied the url and pasted it into easy bib and it made my citation for me. Then I took notes by coping a certain section of the text and pasting in into the notes section of my project. There was a section where you could reword the “quote” from the text, so I put the text into my own words. The process  goes like that until you get enough notes and then you print them out and start your paper. So I typed my paper, and got it peer edited by Friday and plan on turning in the paper copie on Monday. I enjoyed learning how to use  Easybib through doing this assignment.
