Weekly Update: This week in 3dd2b it was pretty chill. Except for the lock down. But education wise I was basically just modifying and reprinting my complex solution. I also did my whole group project. Madi and I are now printing our group project. I really like this class.

Weekly Update: This week in 3dd2b I was working on my complex problem AND my group project. I spent at least two class periods tweaking my lemon squeezer which printed didn’t work as well as I thought it would, to what I thought would work. Sadly it still doesn’t work with the hinge, so I have to make it a grinder type mechanism. I was also working on the group project when I wasn’t tweaking my complex. I am always a busy bee in this class.

Weekly Update: This week in 3dd2b I finished and printed my Simple problem Simple solution. It was pretty problematic and at one point Schiff thought that I would have to start over, because we couldn’t find a way to to make the sides thicker. Eventually I found a way, exporting to Meshmixer and extruding it there. Now I am working on my Complex Problem Complex Solution, a Lemon Squeezer. I have the bottom half done, But the top half will be the hard part. I am really having fun in this class.

Weekly update: This week in 3DD2B I did my SP SS. I had a lot of fun with it this week because it was actually working. I had the idea of a candle holder that projects an image onto the wall when you put the candle in it. I really enjoy doing it because it is not to difficult and I have made some progress. I think that this has been one of my most fun classes all year. I hope to continue enjoying it.

Weekly Update: This week in 3D design to build I was making my SP SS. It started out as a bowl made of hexagons, but then it turned out to be nearly impossible. So today I was thinking of ideas and I tried a couple of different ideas and finally came to the conclusion of making a candle holder. I don’t think that this idea will be so time consuming or difficult. I have enjoyed this class a lot so far, probably because it’s a good challenge.

Weekly Update: This week in 3dd2b I printed my nut and bolt and made my bunny bank. The nut and bolt took a few tries to print, and I never really ended up making it the right size. One of them was way too big, and the other was a shrimp, but its okay because the big one screws on pretty well. I got a little bit of free time this week too, because I had my nut and bolt done. I also made the bunny bank, which was very easy and didn’t have any kinks except that it took a long time for the money hole to subtract. I am really enjoying this class.

Weekly Update: This week in 3dd2b I printed my boat and did the next assignment in 123d design. I was printing my boat by Tuesday, and it was a success. On Monday I started my Nut and Bolt, I finished it by Thursday and started printing it today. I accidentally sized it to large, and had to cancel it half way through and will start it printing again on Monday. I had a lot of fun in this and allow my classes this week.

Weekly Update: This week in 3D design to build I was working only in 123d design. At the beginning of the week I was making my hybrid of kits and primitives. When I was done I started my mallet and board, which took a little longer than the single day it took me to create the hybrid. The assignment I am planning on starting today is making the simple boat, I hope to make a bench and oars to print with the simple boat. I am really enjoying the creativity involved in this class.

Weekly Update: This week in 3Dd2b I got to start exploring two different apps that we will be working in. The first one was Sketch up, which we began in on Monday. We did two exercises, the first was creating a bowl and the second was creating a simple chair, there was also extra credit of creating a vase which I attempted, but failed. Creating the bowl was easy and gave me a chance to explore the tools. the chair was a little more difficult, but not to mind boggling. The second app we are starting to explore is 123d design. We are in the process of creating a hybrid of kits and primitives. It has been a very fun week.
