Welcome Back Everyone!
Another school year is about to get underway and we already have a full calendar for the year.
As I did last year, I will try to communicate informational items in my weekly announcements, instead of taking up staff meeting time or flooding people with individual emails throughout the week. Just three reminders for this week:
• Language Arts Survey – If you didn’t complete this last Spring, be sure to fill out the online survey regarding the English/Language Arts adoption and implementation ELA Survey – http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB227WHZPTS9B
• Fall Reading Kit Testing – During the last several years, the district has used the 4J Reading Kit and next year will be transition into using the EasyCBM. The EasyCBM test uses computers for the comprehension portion of the test. For that reason, COW’s will be needed during our testing weeks. In addition, each school will need to designate a person to be trained in EasyCBM. Training information will be in late August. Let me know if you’d be interested in being your school’s point person.
• Tell Allan a Summer Story by Tuesday – Be sure to email or tell me the most interesting, fun, or outrageous thing you did during the summer. This will be for a quick fun activity I’ll do at our staff meeting on Wednesday. Feel free to be clever and creative!
Lastly, if you are printing the announcements, be aware that it’s the calendar for the entire school year.
