Who would like this book? Anybody with a thirst for action and adventure. This book is suited for boys AND girls. Also, if you read the first book in this series: The Angel Experiment.

The goods on this book: Meet the Flock- Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel. They are not your everyday kids- they can fly with wings. They have avian-human DNA, and are on the run from the people who made them this way. The Erasers – lupine/human hybrids – were made by the same people who made the Flock. The Flock are hunted down by the Erasers, and when Fang is attacked they have to go to a hospital. There, they are taken in by a too-good-to-be-true FBI agent and have to face something like never before – a school! Join the Flock in this thrilling sequel to James Patterson’s Maximum Ride- The Angel Experiment.

Champion: Legend Book 3 by Marie Lu

championWho would like this book? Anyone who has read Legend and Prodigy and like them will want to read Champion.

The goods on this book: It’s always welcome when the third book of a trilogy holds up and does not disappoint. I think that Champion is a satisfying final book for the Legend trilogy. The plot moves quickly with many unforeseen surprises, and I did not predict the ending. June is now a Princeps-Elect in Denver, while Day is with Eden in San Francisco for medical treatment. The Republic is being attacked by the Colonies. The Colonies accuse The Republic of infecting them with the plague and demand that The Republic give them the cure. Anden is desperate to find this cure and enlists June to ask Day to offer Eden as their only hope. The tension of the love triangle between June, Day, and Anden continues with further complications in their individual lives increasing that tension. The minor characters – Tess, Thomas, Commander Jameson – contribute much to the plot and bring out more depth in the main characters. I hope that this trilog is the next movie series!

Who would like this book? Ladies and gents ages 11+ who don’t mind some mature content.

The goods on this book: Just narrowly escaping the Republic in Legend, Day and June are thrown once again into another chaotic sequel! This time Day’s leg injury has come back to haunt him; the Patriots (a rebel organization against the republic) agree to help them both, for a price. Riots are breaking loose and a new Elector is handling the wheel of the country. The senators are not happy with his decisions, and so the Patriots decide to take the opportunity to plan an assassination on the new elector, Anden. However, not everything is what it seems with the Patriots, and June is caught in between the long standing loyalty to her country and the newfound respect of her fellow Patriots. Will June follow through?

Who would like this book? Anyone from age 12 and up who likes a little bit of blood and a lot of epic fighting scenes.

The goods on this book: The Death Cure is the third book in the Maze Runner series. It takes place in Denver, and the WICKED head quarters. The Gladers have been through so much and now they have the biggest journey ahead of them yet. This book has the same main characters as the last book, including Thomas, Minho, and Theresa. I thought this book was amazing, and it will keep you on your seat at every page. I personally loved the series and do suggest it.

Who would like this book? People who like fiction and are older then 11. I think both genders would like this book.

The goods on this book: Miranda is sixteen years old and still writes a diary, but maybe it’s a good thing. A meteor is going to hit and everyone gathers. When it hits is when the disaster start: the blizzards, earthquakes, volcanoes. Miranda and her family may be safe for while, but what happens when they run out of food or get sick? Nobody knows, but they do know that they have to keep each other alive. Miranda was never a happy person, but now she feels as if this experience has helped her in many ways. She knows what it means to struggle to survive, and in the end it was all worth it even if not everybody made it out alive. I thought this book was really good and had a lot of detail.

Who would like this book? Boys and girls above 10 years old. It contains controversial material.

The goods on this book: In Los Angeles, California a conspiracy is brewing and the Republic is fighting to snuff it out. A boy named Day, who has amazing agility and intelligence and scored a perfect 1500 out of 1500 in his job-deciding trial is used as a test subject by the republic and left to die. June, a 15 year old girl who also scored 1500, is trained by the republic to become their perfect patriot. But when these two meet, they realize there is something more behind the republic’s facade of perfection and harmony. The main characters are: Day, June, Metias, Thomas and commander Jameson. The conflict is that the republic wants Day to be put down for rebellion.
My opinion of this book is that this book would be perfect for anyone that loves a good dystopian story. I rate it a 10/10.

Who would like this book? I recommend this book for children 9 or older. The theme is pretty dark and the community in which Jonas lives in is very creepy, although it may sound normal at first.

The goods on this book: Jonas is becoming a Twelve, the year you get assigned your job. A Twelve is when you become an adult, and the time for promotion is soon. On the promotion Jonas is assigned the job as Receiver of Memory: What could this mean? Jonas didn’t understand. The job assigner explained to Jonas that this job is at the highest respect, although it is a very painful job. A very painful one indeed. What is the Receiver of Memory? Who is The Giver? Read the book to find out!

Who would like this book? Any one from about 10 and up who enjoys quite a bit of action and adventure would like this book.

The goods on this book: Once the Gladers get out of the dreaded maze, they think life will go back to normal. But they were wrong. The planet has been mostly destroyed by the sun flares. There is also a disease that has spread; when you have it, you start to lose your mind and become crazy. Thomas and the others find out they have this terrible disease. Who would like this book? Boys and girls, 12 and above, and anyone who likes action and dystopian stories set in the future would like this book. People who don’t mind a little bit of unpleasantness – violence, obscenities, disturbing scenes.

The goods on this book: After they have survived the Scorch Trials, Thomas and his felllow companions must face the question: do they truly want their memories back? Can they trust WICKED? Is there really even a cure for the flare? Janson, one of the head directors has promised Thomas that there is just one more variable, one that just might truly break Thomas. To be truthful, I was extremely caught off guard by the ending and I think you will be, too. (I won’t give anything away though, just giving you the bait.) The main characters are Thomas, Newt, Teresa, Brenda, Minho and Janson.

insurgentReview by Mengjie C.

Who would like this book? I think older people like teenagers who are interested in adventurous, thrilling, and sci-fi series would really enjoy this book and the rest of the series. Anyone who loves to read big books would also enjoy this book because it has 525 pages.

The goods on this book: In this book the world has been taken over. People everywhere have been shot with mind controlling serums. The beginning of Insurgent takes off where Divergent ended. Tris, Tobias, Marcus, and Peter are trying to run for their lives while saving the world from coming to an end. Jeanine Matthews is the leader of the Erudite and is also the one controlling the minds of everyone. Their mission is to get an important file that will reveal the truth that everyone should know. Tris and the rest of the group have to stay over at safe houses to protect themselves as they’re also trying to escape from the Erudite that are looking for them. None of them are allowed to go back to the Dauntless headquarters because there are secret cameras that can report back to the Erudites and tell them exactly what they’re trying to do. So they find a fun way to cover up the cameras, and soon they go back to the Dauntless headquarters. But they forgot to cover up one camera. Things after that start going pretty crazy. I think this book is one of my favorites and you’ll be on the edge of your seat the whole time!
