Who would like this book? I think teens who like suspense, adventure, and a little romance would like this book.
The goods on this book: Tally Youngblood dreams of becoming pretty. She spends every waking moment thinking about it. Then she meets Shay. Shay has the same birthday as Tally, but one of the many things that they don’t have in common is the fact that Shay doesn’t want to become pretty. This becomes a problem when Shay decides to run away. She is headed to the Smoke. Tally stays behind, but when she goes to become pretty, she finds a surprise waiting for her. Tally gets to visit Dr. Cable. She is the head of Special Circumstances, the people who run the town. Dr. Cable tells Tally that she needs to go find Shay and bring her back to the city or she will never become pretty. So Tally heads out to the Smoke. Will Tally make it to the Smoke? Does she bring Shay back to the cruel Dr. Cable? Read the book to find out. 🙂
