Stop Motion Play

Students use the skills acquired from creating previous animation stories – iPad app iMotion will be the primary tool to learn basic stop motion animation; adjusting frame rates, creating scenes and settings, using tripods for fixed frame views, etc.

Play 1 – Students use found objects to create a 30 second stop motion animation “story”, suggested frame rate to make the motion relatively smooth. Export iMotion footage, and import to iMovie on the iPad, add sound and export to upload to their ePortfolios.

This assignment was a lot of fun! It was Originally 30 seconds long but iMotion made it shorter and I don’t know how to fix it. None the less I still enjoyed the process of moving the drawing I made around a piece of paper to make a movie. My favorite part was making the ball bounce around and break from the paper. While this project didn’t turn out exactly as planned I still had a lot of fun making this project and I’m looking forward to my next stop motion animation piece.
