Hi Everyone,

It’s our last full week of classes and if you’re counting there are only eleven and a half day’s left.

Four items of note for this week:

• Eugene Public Library Summer Reading Program – Please tell your students about the free Summer Reading programs at Eugene Public Library. Each student who signs up gets a free book to keep. In addition, the Library hosts free, fun events all summer for kids and for teens. This year’s theme is “Be Creative!” Sign-ups start June 6 at all Library locations: Downtown, Bethel Branch, and Sheldon Branch. More info can be found here: http://www.eugene-or.gov/library
• Summer Painting – This summer our building will be getting a fresh paint job. I do not have an exact date at this point, but wanted to let folks to be aware of this. Staff are free some come and work in the building over the summer during painting, but be advised that fans and other air circulation systems will be turned off and the building may be hotter than normal. I’ll keep you posted as get more information.
• Free Humane Society Classroom Newsletter – An EEF donor has offered to pay for this monthly publication for any classroom that wants it (28 copies per bundle plus teacher materials). If you want to subscribe for next year, let me know by June 5. A sample newsletter can be found here: http://www.kindnews.org/aboutkn_sample.asp?filename=SamplePrimary.swf
• Year End Checklist – This is just a repeat from last week. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the Classroom Year End Checklinst. (year-end-checklist.doc)

Have an excellent week!

Allan
