Hi All,

We almost to an end of our four day weeks.

Five items of note for this week:

• TAG Testing Referrals Due Jan. 28th – See last week’s announcement for details, but if you have any students you think should be TAG tested, please send me their names by the end of this week.
• Quickbase Student Reports for Report Cards – Let me know before Friday if you’d like a class set of the Quickbase reports to send home with Report Cards that I printed for teachers last year. These are the reports that contain easyCBM scores, OAKS scores, and attendance data. I’ll plan to run the reports on the grading day, so they will have the complete attendance information for first semester.
• Handwashing: Soap & Water vs. Hand Sanitizer – When having students wash-up for lunch, please consider that proper hand washing consists of washing your hands with soap under running water for at least 30 seconds, then drying. Hand sanitizer or towelettes are adequate ways of cleaning your hands if you don’t have access to running water and soap, but sanitizers do not eliminate all types of germs and are not effective when hands are visibly dirty. For more information, you can visit the 4J Handwashing webpage, the Center for Disease Control webpage, an About.com webpage, and even the Purell FAQ webpage.
• 2011-2012 Staffing Allocations Timeline – As an FYI, HR will be distributing the 2011-12 staffing allocations on Wednesday, February 23, 2011.
• Doodle for Google Drawing Contest – For those of you that have creative students who like to doodle….this would be a great contest for them to enter. It’s a contest to design the Google logo. They have different age categories of entries and judging too! Details can be found on the Doodle for Google website.

Have a great week!

Allan
