Hello Everyone!

Thank you all for putting up with and for understanding my absence last week. I also have to apologize for missing Corridor’s Silent Auction Staff Dinner on Friday and for missing YG’s performance on Saturday at the Asian Celebration, but at least I got to see you all in the paper! (Click Here for Article). After school, on Friday, I actually went to the doctor where they told me I was dehydrated, had low blood pressure, and needed to stay off my feet for several days. I think I’m slowly getting better, but I’m still not quite 100% yet.

Anyhow, just one item of note for this week besides my “man cold.”

• Athletes Inspire! O Heroes Program – Have you ever wanted to invite an athlete to come to your school to engage with and inspire your students? Thanks to the new O Heroes program at the University of Oregon, there is now a simple, streamlined way to make such requests. The university’s Athletics Department asks that all requests for athlete visits use this format. The application form and instructions are now available on 4J’s website, in the staff-only area:, http://www.4j.lane.edu/files/communications/4J_COMM_DuckAthleteRequests.pdf, Teachers may already be aware of the O Heroes program as it relates to requests for Read Across America. The program also applies to other athlete requests throughout the school year. Applications should be submitted directly to O Heroes staff, as outlined in the instructions., If you have any questions about the O Heroes program and the UO Athletics Department’s partnership with Eugene School District 4J, please contact Kerry Delf, 4J Communications Coordinator delf_k@4j.lane.edu

Enjoy your week, everyone!
