Welcome back everyone!

I hope you all had a safe, relaxing, and rejuvenating break. I had all sorts of plans to read and do projects around the house, but ended up spending most of the time with friends and family (and too much time playing Fallout 3 and watching TV series on DVD. Watch “Friday Night Lights” if you like great TV. It’s excellent!).

Four items of note for this week:

• January 5th Professional Development Schedule – On Monday we will have professional development activities happening at each school in the morning. Previous announcements have the detailed version. Here’s the quick version.

o YG – 8:00-12:00 EasyCBM Training in Patrick’s classroom
o COR – 8:30-12:00 EEA Diversity Cadre Training in Library

• Technology Workshops – The TILT Center is offering a wide variety of workshops for all grade levels. For the full list and details please go online to the following URL: http://www.4j.lane.edu/workshops/
• Math & Reading Testing – Reading screening will begin next week, January 12th. I will get the testing schedule to teachers as soon as I hear from the 4J testers. Also, remember that the testing window for grades 1-5 for math (online & paper pencil) runs from January 6 – 23. These dates are the same for the online reading assessment as well.
• Tom Question Assembly – Tom Question has not confirmed the date, but he will be performing for each school on either January 13th or 14th, from 8:20-9:05 for Corridor and from 9:15-10:00 for YG. I’ll let folks know the final date once I hear from Tom.

See you all Monday!

Allan
