Hi Everyone,

It’s our final full week of classes for the school year this week. Only four day student weeks from here on out!

Three items of note for this week:

• Spring easyCBM Testing – All Spring easyCBM scores must be entered into the system by Friday, May 28th. Please let me know if you have any questions.
• Zimbra Calendars – Now that everyone has been switched over to Zimbra, for next school year I will be maintaining three different calendars, one for each school (for performances, field trips, meetings, etc…) and a third calendar for school-wide dates/events (no school days, fire drills, IIPM meetings, district meetings, etc…). The third calendar will be the “Silver Lea” calendar I currently “share” with staff. On Tuesday, I will be “sharing” the calendar for each school with everyone. That means you will get an email from me and you will need to click the “Accept” button at the top of the email. The calendars will then show up under your Calendar tab in Zimbra. It will be important people do this because I am planning to switch to electronic announcements (the blog and Zimbra calendar only) and not the MS Word document. Let me know if you have any problems getting these calendars onto your account.
• Stranger Alert – Renee Tobler, the North Region School Resource Officer sent the following message out Friday afternoon. Notify the office immediately if you see this individual.

Myself and other EPD officers responded to a report of a suspicious male hanging around the Community Market on Maxwell Blvd today. He was reportedly approaching patrons and allegedly made some alarming comments about his sexual interest in young boys.

This man seems to be homeless and recently began frequenting the River Road area. He has been contacted by police previously for reportedly making similar comments to female high school students. At about 3:30 today he was located and arrested on an unrelated minor charge near River Road and Beltline. Though it is unknown if he has been on school property, as a precaution he was advised for trespass on any 4J property. As I am able, I will distribute a photo.

For the time being here is a description: WM, 40 years old, 5-8, 175, shoulder length slightly wavy blonde hair, today he was wearing a black stocking cap, a yellow rain jacket, and blue jeans, he rides a red trek mountain bike pulling a bike trailer. His name is Kelly Carter.

If in the future you observe him on any school property, please let myself or any on-duty police officer know asap.

• BLOG ONLY LINK – Here’s a funny site I found this weekend with a link to a customized video I made. Not so educational, but something you can certainly have fun with. You can customize your own video from this link.

Have a great week!
