Hi Everyone,

Four items of note for this week:

• April 16th Math Professional Development – Friday, April 16th is a no-student day and is half PD, half planning for teachers. There will be a math workshop for teachers (classroom and SPED) held at Chavez. There are two session, one for grades K-2 from 8:00-11:30 and one session for grades 3-5 and SPED staff from 12:00-3:30. See the attachment for details.
• March 29th In-service Follow-Up – Following the March 29th in-service at Madison, I’m sure many folks might be wondering, what do I do now? Attached is a nice concise list of “20 Things I Can Do” that was sent out to principals by Carmen Urbina. It’s worth reading when you get a chance.
• Locked Spaces – The school district is asking principals to notify staff of where locked spaces are available to employees so they may secure small personal valuables (such as a wallet or purse). If you need to secure small valuables, please see Diane or Joanne. YG’s locked space is a locking filing cabinet in the IMC. Corridor’s locked space is a locking cabinet in the office. Both secretaries keep the key for each space.
• Papa’s Pizza Fundraiser – Although it’s not a student from out school, I wanted to let folks know there’s a Papa’s Pizza fundraiser on April 12th and May 26th for the Awbrey Park student who was in a motorcycle accident with his father over Spring Break, when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver. Attached are flyers for the events if you’d like to help.

Have a great week, everyone!

Allan
