Hi All,

We’ve made it to our final full week of the year!

Nine items of note for this week:

• Year End Checklist & Checkout Sign-Up Sheet – I’ll be putting a hard copy of the Year End Checklist in teacher’s mailboxes on Monday. Remember to sign-up for a checkout time on the list in the mailroom.

• Summer Computer Check-Out – Related to the above, if you are planning to checkout any laptops, iPads or other technology over the summer, be sure to complete the district Technology Equipment Checkout Contract and return it to Lori.

• Report Cards to be Mailed Home – One change from last week’s announcements is that Title 1 staff will insert specialist reports into cum folders, so classrooms teachers will not have to do this. The rest of the plan is the same:

• Lori will print report cards from eSIS.
• Lori will stuff them in envelopes along with specialist reports.
• All reports cards will be mailed home by June 14th.
Teachers will complete cum files and insert a copy of the report card.
Specialists will give Lori a copy of their report to mail home.

Let me know if you have any questions.

• Staff Summer Book Picks! – Before we head off into the summer, let’s put together a staff list of recommended summer reading! I’ve already heard from a couple folks, but send me a book or books you’d recommend or any that you’re planning to read. I’ll share the list in next week’s announcements, so send me you picks by the end of this week. I know Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is on my list. I started it over spring break, but haven’t had time to finish. If you grew up in the 80s and you like sci-fi, it’s a must read!

• Class Lists Due Friday – Please remember that class list are due to the office by the end of the day on grading day. This will give specialists time to review lists and consult with classroom teachers about any potential changes before everyone leaves for the summer.

• Field Day Sign-Up – Field Day this Tuesday, so any staff who are not working with student 10:00-11:15 should sign-up to help run a station for the 3rd-5th grade Field Day. The sign-up sheet is on the board in the mailroom.

• Last Days of School Calendar & Schedule UPDATED – There have been a couple changes to the schedule for the last days of school. The main one is that after talking with Carolyn in the kitchen, we’ve figured out how to do the grab-and-go lunch schedule later in the day. See that attachment or schedule below.

• Summer Professional Development Opportunities – If any of you are looking for PD opportunities this summer or for a way to easily earn college credit, see the attached email from the Oregon Reading Association and the Emerald Empire Reading Council.

Students will enter the cafeteria through the doors closest to the office. They will put together their own sack lunch, assembly line style. As students pass through the line, they should form a new line at the doors exiting to the breezeway. Once all the students have gotten their lunches, the class can leave the cafeteria. This process should take 5-8 minutes. If staff, not supervising students, are available to help during this time, that would be terrific!.
