I hope everyone is rested up after our first full week of classes.
I also want to thank YG staff for all their work organizing and getting students ready for the Eugene celebration parade this past Saturday. And congratulations on being awarded the “Best Dressed” entry out of 93 different groups!
Three reminders for this week:
• Parking Lot Thefts – As most of you know, Joanne had her car stolen during school hours last Friday and Nicole had her catalytic converter stolen the week before. I’ve contacted Patrick Hughes, Director of Risk Management, who has contacted the police about higher vigilance in the area and anything else they can do. I’ve also contacted the NEHS School Resource Officer. For the time being, staff may park closer to the building anywhere in the parking lot. Also, remember not to leave any valuables in your car that would be tempting to thieves, although this had nothing to do with the two prior incidents.
• Walk and Bike to School Day – Nicole and I are considering doing something with “Walk and Bike to School Day” on September 23rd. Since not all of our students live in our neighborhood, we’ll probably just keep it small and simply promote the day in PE, but please weigh in if you have ideas how classes or your class might want to be involved (poster contests, etc…).
• Insurance Enrollment Deadline – Monday, September 15th, is the deadline to enroll in your choice of insurance package. https://myoebb.org/oebb/!pb.main
