Biggest takeaways from college
Friends will come and go and that is okay. I made a lot of friends in college over the four years. Each year I would go months without talking to certain friends and reconnect later in time. My friend group was constantly changing and it made me sad to lose some friends but I was also constantly meeting new people which was fun.
Explore different Majors
Take many different classes in your first two years of college before you decide on a major. I had not even heard of my major till my second year of college when I randomly decided to enroll in a family and human service class where I really fell in love with the content we were learning.
Time do discover new hobbies
College is a great time to discover new things that you love. I have never lifted in my life. I started in college and fell in love with weightlifting. I also learned to longboard and to cook for myself. My advice would be to get involved with something in the school such as intramural sports or clubs. It is a great way to meet new people and try new things. Being at college and away from your family may feel lonely at times but is a great time to really get to know yourself.
