You are invited to attend the Lane Community College presentation Thursday, November 19th at 4:30pm. The link to the presentation will be sent to students via email on November 12th and 18th, will be in the School-to-Career Newsletter sent via email on November 15th and will be in the Principal’s weekly family Bulletin.
Lane Community College is a great option for students who wish to explore majors before going to an 4 year college/university; go into the trades; get a certificate or 2 year degree and go straight into the workforce; and save money by using the Oregon Promise (FREE $$$).
Whether you have decided to go to Lane or are just thinking about it, there’s a lot to explore before you make your final decision. Don’t miss out on the VALUABLE information presented by the LCC Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator, Rosa Maria Bañuelos-Uribe.
Juniors, it’s not too early to start planning. Seniors, it’s time to get going making plans for after high school!
GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT WITH COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES AND SHOW THEM WHO YOU ARE!
Many EXCELLENT colleges and universities are partnering with InitialView’s new EPIC Pitch platform. This platform allows students to view 90-second pitches from colleges all over the country and provides space for students to create their own EPIC Pitch videos to send to the colleges they wish to connect with on the platform.
The deadline for students to create and submit their 90-second pitch is November 13. Students can “high five” their favorite colleges on the platform for a guaranteed response from an admission counselor and, from there, exchange video messages with that counselor to ask their questions in a more personalized way.
Students may view college pitches and create their own pitch by using this link.
College applicants may also send their pitches directly to participating colleges as part of their application. Students interested in creating and submitting an EPIC Pitch video as part of their college application should use this link and click “For Applicants” at the top of the page to follow the step-by-step instructions.
The Summer Academy to Inspire Learning (SAIL) program at the University of Oregon is offering virtual programs for ALL high school students, throughout the 2020-2021 school year! You do not need to be applying to UO to participate.
