6) Clay Box or Dish
Students will have the opportunity to experiment with clay by making a small box with lid. They will be learning the importance of thickness, slip, scratching and attaching, adding texture, design, firing, glazing and painting. Assignments will be graded on how well students followed instruction, helpful clean-up routines, and project completeness. Students will take photos of their projects to record their efforts and upload to their ePortfolio when complete.
Reflection: I made a clay pot dragon with wings and a lid to put things in. I used clay tools, clay, water, and the I Pad to take pictures. This project was so fun and I learned how to make clay pots, fire them and paint them it was so fun!
